The staff were absolutely great, couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. Everything was clean and in good condition. The location was wonderful. The building is attractive and the gardens are pretty. There is lots to do in the area. The food was nice.
The shower in the room was hopeless. Everything else was great.

A very relaxing stay, we were attending the Lincolnshire Ball and enjoyed coming back to our very comfortable room afterwards. Very helpful staff and a good breakfast, will stay again.

The food was fantastic, I had the best Chilli con Carne all for £5.95, there is a good selection of food including an A La Carte Menu, but we were happy with the Bar menu.Staff a friendly, rooms are very quaint and comfortable with massive plasma TV's!
There was a bit of an issue with the heating, which meant the whole place was boiling hot but the shower didn't get very hot. I think it was rectified the next day.

The combination of good quality facilities at a reasonable price/rate - also thought that staff were very customer friendlym
Sadly the room I stayed in wan next to a generator so sleeping was disturbed.

The food
The accommodation requires in depth refurbishing and is currently well below standard for the price paid. The heating pipes require updating as the pipes make significant noise (early in the morning).

Plasma screens do not make a poorly run Hotel a good one! My suspicions were raised when the Hotel was half empty on a Bank Holiday weekend with two major sporting events in the local area. We would never stay again. In particular, the food was truly awful and the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in!

Nice location, evocative buildings. Good size ensuite.
The room was a bit small. The ensuite was overlooked and could do with frosted glass. The TV was difficult to operate. Kitchen smells came up to the room. Other guests were very noisy.

Bed/matress needs renewing, like trying to sleep on a set of springs! Room like an oven due to heating full on although it was one of the hottest days of September/October. Had to complain to reception who were not aware of this!

Courteous and helpful staff, willing to help at any time. Good facilities and very comfortable room and bed. Good breakfast.
Public area could have been more tidier - there were empty boxes on the landing. Room (over looking service yard) was quite noisy from air conditioning unit or beer cooler unit in yard when window was open. Some parts of the hotel could do with a little decoration (the blocked up fireplace in the bar looked a little utilitarian).

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and adequate in terms of space and facilities. The food was of good quality - we especially enjoyed the bar meals.
Our only concern was that we felt the bed was not only a little small for a double but that it was quite old - a pity, when everything else was quite enjoyable.

Both myself and friends thought hotel ok, with reservations ( no pun intended!) We enjoyrd the food, the evening dinner was excellent. The breakfast was certainly ok as well, and all the staff we met were v. friendly and smiley. The parking was ok for our motorcycles right outside the front door, so we felt at ease , as they have cctv at the front, and a night portery type person whose office was right there as well. the rooms were clean and fresh, but (personally) i did'nt think the bed comfy, and there was a fair bit of banging /noises in the night.
The TV in my room was malfunctioning , but I was not overly bothered by that, but some folk would not like that , which is why I mention it. One of my friends tv did,nt work at all, despite speaking to reception ( in person. The Plastic glasses in the bathroom should really be replaced by something better as mine were both cracked, as was my friends in his room. we did get two pint glasses from the bar when mentioned this ! The hotel is in a good location , and we did enjoy our stay. We would mention this hotel to others in a positve light , but would suggest they attend to the minor gripes above. One of my friends said the shower in rm 14 was not working either !
